HVAC: what the work involves
Replacing heating and cooling means a new condenser and air handler — or, increasingly, a heat pump that does both — usually with duct repairs and a new thermostat. Sizing is the part that matters most and the part most often got wrong.
Questions worth asking before you sign:
- Did you run a Manual J load calculation, and can I see it?
- Is the ductwork sized for this equipment, and will you test static pressure after install?
- What does the quote include for the condensate line, the disconnect and the pad or mounts?
- What annual maintenance does the warranty require me to document?
How long it takes: A straight equipment swap is usually 1–2 days; adding or reworking ducts extends it to 3–5.

No. BlockSun is free for homeowners. We are paid an introduction fee by the provider, which is why the plan and the estimates cost you nothing and why we say so plainly.
What happens after I request a quote?
The provider receives your request with the project and address, contacts you directly, and arranges a site visit to confirm the real number. Nothing is committed until you sign with them.
Can my neighbors and I get a better price together?
Usually yes. A contractor doing several homes on one street shares mobilization, permitting and travel across all of them. That is the whole premise of BlockSun's block pricing.
