Artificial turf replaces lawn with a synthetic surface over a compacted, draining base. In a drought-prone climate it removes irrigation and mowing entirely; the trade-off is a significant up-front cost and a surface that runs hotter than grass in direct sun.
Questions worth asking before you sign:
- What base depth and material do you install, and how do you compact it?
- What is the face weight and warranty of the specific product, and how is it fixed at the edges?
- How does water drain, particularly for pet areas, and what infill do you use?
- Is my water utility's rebate available on this work, and will you handle the paperwork?

Fencing: what the work involves
New fencing replaces or adds a boundary structure — posts set in concrete, a frame, and the infill material. Most of the cost is in linear feet and post depth, and most of the disputes are about where the line actually runs.
Questions worth asking before you sign:
- How deep are the posts set, and are they in concrete with a drainage base?
- Is the property line surveyed, and how are we handling the neighbor's agreement and cost share?
- What hardware is on the gates, and is it warranted separately?
- Does the quote include haul-away of the old fence and repair of the ground afterwards?

It also sets a limit we hold to: a provider cannot pay to change your home's ranking or its numbers, because the ranking is computed from your property. Whoever you contact, check the licence is current and active with the California State License Board, get the scope in writing, and never pay a large deposit up front.

No. BlockSun is free for homeowners. We are paid an introduction fee by the provider, which is why the plan and the estimates cost you nothing and why we say so plainly.
What happens after I request a quote?
The provider receives your request with the project and address, contacts you directly, and arranges a site visit to confirm the real number. Nothing is committed until you sign with them.
Can my neighbors and I get a better price together?
Usually yes. A contractor doing several homes on one street shares mobilization, permitting and travel across all of them. That is the whole premise of BlockSun's block pricing.
